Bidriware

is a metal handicraft from the city of Bidar in Karnataka. It was developed in the 14th century C.E. during the rule of the Bahmani Sultans. The term "bidriware" originates from the township of Bidar, which is still the chief center of production. The metal used is white brass that is blackened and inlaid with silver. This native art form has obtained Geographical Indications (GI)

1. Bidar Fort

is located in old city area, Bidar, Karnataka, India. The fort, the city and the district are all afxed with the name Bidar. Sultan Ahmad Shah I of the Bahmanid dynasty shifted his capital from Gulbarga to Bidar in 1427 and built his fort along with a number of Islamic monuments. There are over 30 monuments inside Bidar fort.



2.Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib

is a Sikh historical shrine situated in Bidar, Karnataka. Gurdwara Nanak Jhira Sahib was built in 1948 and is dedicated to the rst Sikh guru, Guru Nanak. Bidar has a very long association with Sikhism as this is the home town of Bhai Sahib Singh, one of the Panj Pyare (ve beloved ones), who offered to sacrice their heads and were later baptised as the rst members of the Khalsa.



3. Jharni Narasimha Temple

is the only underwater temple of Lord Narasimha in the world. Devotees have to pass through a waist deep water lled tunnel to have darshan of Lord Narasimha.



4. Papnash Temple

is a Shiva Temple situated in Bidar district, Karnataka. It is believed that the idol of the temple was installed by Lord Rama on his way back to Ayodhya. The original temple was lost and a new temple was built at the ruins of the ancient temple.



5. Ashtoor

is an important centre of Indo-Saracenic monuments. Like the Egyptian pharaohs, the Bahamani kings were fond of building magnicent tombs to house themselves after death. Twelve imposing mausoleums are located at Ashtur east of Bidar. Of these, the tombs of Ahamad Shah and Alauddin Shah II stand out due to their grandeur

6. Basavakalyana

is a historical city and municipal council in the Bidar District of the Indian state of Karnataka. It was the capital of two dynasties — Kalyani Chalukya and Kalachuris of Kalyani. It is famous for the world's tallest Basavanna statue, which stands 108 feet (33 m) high. It is one of the major cities and industrial hubs of Bidar district.



7. Anubhava Mantapa

It is the first religious parliament in the world, whose literal meaning is "experience pavilion", and was an academy of mystics, saints and philosophers of the lingayat faith in the 12th century. It was the fountainhead of all religious and philosophical thought pertaining to the lingayat.



8. Basaveshvara Temple

is at the centre of Basavakalyan. There are some Islamic monuments Moti Mahal, Hydari Mahal, Peeran Durga. And other religious places



9. Jalasangvi

is a historical place, built by king Vikramaditya VI of the Chalukya dynasty. There is a big pond in the village area, close to which there are some Chalukya temples in various states of ruin.
